Huffpo’s Mayhill Fowler has more from Obama’s remarks at a San Francisco fundraiser Sunday, and they include an attempt to explain the resentment in small-town Pennsylvania that won’t be appreciated by some of the people whose votes Obama’s seeking:
Obama stated, “You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them…And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.
And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
That’s a pretty broad list of things to explain with job loss.
I am totally shocked that he could speak of the people of Pennsylvania like this! This is horrible!! He makes statements like this and the wants their votes?

Greetings. It’s tragic that people are following this guy without taking heed to the disturbing rhetoric from both he and Michelle; not to mention their long-standing ties to people who also make disturbing statements. Such is the age in which we live.

Rev.Wright will probably be returning to his Trinity pulpit soon–His replacement,Otis Moss III may be returning to his hometown of Cleveland to replace his father, Rev. Otis Moss, Jr. at a famous Baptist black church in Cleveland. All of a sudden, according to April 7 Plain Dealer newspaper,
Otis has decided to retire-and “it is not sure whether Otis III will leave Chicago”…Sounds to me like a plan to bring Wright back-to rake in all the $$$$$$$ his notoreity will bring-especially if they think who they want as the next President will sometimes attend( but of course the President’s people will write that day’s sermon)…
The insult to everyday people can not be taken back-Obama is about to be baked-and when the Larry Sinclair-Donald Young explodes-that will be the frosting.

Now this just plain makes me mad. Of course people cling to their religion what to heck are you to do when hard times befall you? Apparently this man does not know what it is to be out of work, no jobs available and no where to turn. I don’t care what he tries to say to white wash this it is there, it was said and it was just plain mean. Does he feel this way about all of us people who are in rural America and not the elitist? In Michigan we do a lot of hunting and we are darned proud of our guns and what is wrong with this? Of course he doesn’t give two hoots in hell for Michigan as he made sure our votes wouldn’t count. This man hasn’t got a clue, all he wants to do is be a big shot and win the white house and like his white grandmother if he does he will throw all the rest of us under the buss with her.

How dare him! I have family in PA and I resent this remark. I thought my grandmother was going to have a stroke when she heard this! How dare him look down his nose at the people of this country and make such remarks! Nothing you can say will change this one Obama, NOTHING! Obama did not insult just the people of PA, he insulted America as these people represent America. They are hard working blue collar people who love this country and have a high respect for the flag. Most of America is this way. As Hannity said he basically called 99 percent of Americans “gun slinging, bible toting, bigots” and this time he can’t cry guilt by association. So not what will it be as we are so ignorant we can’t understand his words? He stands by them in his speeches, he STOOD BY THEM! He is so arrogant he thinks he can say things like this, put a twist on it and we will accept it and fall at his feet? Well this is one gun slinging, bible toting, bigot who will strike back at the arrogance of this elitist and say go to hell Obama you are so wonderful you don’t need our votes. Stand downwind and smell yourself because you reek with lies, arrogance, and I truly believe you meant what you said the way you said it and you and your wife hate this country and believe you are entitled to be president. Americans will NOT be insulted and pushed around! Vote Hillary, Vote McCain as this arrogant elitist is way above us working class Americans so let him walk on water to the white house without our votes. I am mad as hell and not going to take insults from this man! By the way if you don’t cling to religion what do you cling to the teachings of Rev. Wright? This man is proud to go out and be able to get my hands dirty and work the land. I am proud of the Bible and traditions of my fathers. I am proud of the American flag and proud to call myself an American. I am not ashamed of the fact that I do not have money but what I do have I have worked for and earned. I don’t have millions in the bank but my kids are fed and clothed. I take pride in a hard days work and I wore the uniform of this country with pride and fought for the freedoms of it. I am proud to be free to speak my mind, to be able to be my own person and proud of the accomplishments I have made in rural everyday America. I am proud to fly the American flag on my house. Mr. Obama sir you have been given the best this country has to offer and your father came here from a grant to get his education. Now you have the nerve to bash the hard working Americans who made and kept this country free for you, your father and others to receive from it the best it can give? Nothing like biting the hand that feeds you. As an American who is proud of this country, its grasslands, its people and their hard work and yes, even the bible and the constitution that gives people the right to bear arms I take the highest offense by your remarks. You said you stand by them sir and I stand by my judgement which has served me well for all of my life and is based on American working class tradition as I say you sir are not electable as President. You should respect the people who vote for you, not belittle them, look down on them, and mock their values and plight.

When things go bad in my life I turn to my faith. Yes I cling to my religion as I think most Americans do. It is the base of my value system. Religon is the core of my family unit and it is the ground work that this great country was founded on. Obama’s remarks did not just offend the people of PA, they offended America, all working class people, people of faith and people who are the backbone of this great country. Here in Kentucky I am deeply offended as is my cousin in Indiana and my sister in Michigan and my brother in California. Are we a bitter nation? Not that I have seen, I have seen a hard working nation who comes together in times of crisis such as 911 and a people who do hold true to their traditions, faith, and values and Obama sorry we do not fit in with “GOD DAMN AMERICA,” but you know what why would we want to? You have your belief system Obama and we have ours and you are so far removed from ours it would take a leader dog to get you any where close to them. Your totally blinded by your own arrogance.

Mr. Obama’s remarks are not surprising. The insensitivity, arrogence, and lack of understanding is something that continues to flow through his words and those of others he call his friends and associates. HE CAN TRY TO ERASE THE DAMAGE EACH TIME BUT HIS STATEMENTS REVEAL THE REAL ATTITUDES THIS MAN HAS. He is arrogant and overly confident enough to think that with his limited experience in federal government to date, he can just LEAP right into the highest position in the country! Only someone very naive or much too dangerously overconfident could try to run an entire country and foreign affairs when even men and women of all races in the US with significantly much more experience and years of national and international exposure decline to run and are humbled by the responsibility!

I have a couple of friends and their parents in Pennsylvania who already thought Obama was arrogant and out of touch with different populations and will say anything he has to to get everyone’s vote. His insenitive statements about people in Pennsylvania and his campaign’s latest attempts at damage control over it only confirm even more what they already believe to be true about him.

I am appalled and outraged by these comments. Obama has no right to judge the people of America this way. He is a snob and truly thinks we owe it to him to make him the President. The man is shallow and all of the pieces are coming together like Michelle Obama, mean USA and first time proud, Rev. Wright hate filled speeches, Avers and even the white people bashing in his OWN words in his books. He needs to be removed from this race and the people of this great nation should speak out in their outrage against him. Don’t attend his rallies, don’t watch TV when he is on, Don’t listen to his lies but DO blog and send letters to the press and super delegates, the DNC and every where else you can think of to express your anger and remember he is the one who thinks we are low classed under him. How dare him bash the people of AMERICA!

Donna Brazille says it is because he is a Law Professor and he is always trying to teach people? Teach us what? That our traditions offend him? That we “CLING TO RELIGION” because we are “bitter?” Know what he has a few things to learn about REAL America where we work with our hands, where we love God and Country, where we value our homes, families and children and where we make this country what it is by our values which come from the religion we cling to. I can’t go his face and tell him what I think of his stupid remarks but I can send a loud an clear message with my vote and I can assure you it will NEVER be casted for him.
