You go girl!!
Everyone is in the speculation mode of why she stepped down from her governor post. DUH!!! She came right out and told us why…Sarah Palin is tired of all the stupid lawsuits that are costing her taxpayers money and she is tired of her children being bashed. What better reasons could there be?
So Palin made a large mistake, ruined her life, should leave politics, and needs to be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen right? Wrong, According to the National Governors Association, 205 governors have resigned so it would be interesting to dig up all the reasons for their resignations. So what Sarah did by resigning is really nothing new, 205 governors have done it before her.
http://www.nga.org/portal/site/nga/menuitem.b14a675ba7f89cf9e8ebb856a11010a0
Here are some of the reasons I found:
Jim McGreevey (NJ) resigned in 2004 after coming out as gay.
William Weld resigned as Massachusetts governor in the hope of being confirmed as ambassador to Mexico. He didn’t get the job.
Thomas Stevenson Drew, governor of Arkansas from 1844-1849, who resigned because his pay was too low.
Is Sarah Palin ruined? Well that depends on who you ask. The women and men I talk with are behind her and are very angry with the bashing of her children, the constant attacks, and sexism. How low can a person get to bash a special needs child? It really makes you wonder what society is coming to doesn’t it. Children are innocent, they are off limits totally and it takes a very low life person to bash a child. Heck, Obama had a fit when his wife was being bashed and he about lost it declaring HER off limits…a grown woman…an adult…a graduate of Harvard who is very capable of speaking for herself and yet Palin has her children bashed and she should shut up and take it? She should say nothing about her children being the brunt of horrible jokes? Having her special needs child being put up on EBay for sale? Seeing pictures of her children distorted in pictures? Oh Please, talk about double standards.
What is this woman’s real crime? She dared to run for the Vice President position. If she would not have committed this horrible crime she would still be the governor of Alaska and her family would be safe from all the attacks they have had to endure. It is ridiculous the way the media has ripped this woman to shreds and her family right along with her all because of what? Oh ya I remember…..she ran for Vice President!!
It is sad that so many people have so much hate that they have to hit in the lowest possible form below the belt. What woman or man would stand there and let their child be bashed all over and say nothing? What parent would not do anything they could to protect their child? What parent would not hurt watching the tears of their innocent young one as they struggled to understand why so many people hate their parents? But worst of all what parent of a developmentally disabled child could stand by and watch their BABY being bashed, ridiculed, distorted, and totally destroyed by the media? Everywhere I have heard women and men comment “Say what you want about me but don’t you dare attack my children.”
Sarah I applaud you. You put your state and family first and that says a lot about your character. You have exhibited courage in the face of adversity and you have shown the world where your priorities lie, in your state you love and your family you love more. In my mind you did the right thing and I for one hope with everything in me you run for President of the United States in 2012 and if you do, you will have this Independents vote. That is a promise. I stand behind Sarah on her decision to leave as I would have also if the media tore my children up the way they did hers. Personally I would have been furious and told them all where to go. She made the right choice for her family and for her state to spare them any more problems. Did she run away?
Hell No, she is just catching her breath.

Far-right wing activists launch anti-Obama campaign
By ABE SELIG
Chanting “No, you can’t!” and waving signs bearing messages in a similar vein, nearly 200 people held a demonstration outside the US Consulate on the capital’s Rehov Agron on Wednesday evening, protesting the growing American pressure to stop construction in West Bank settlements.
Rightists tell Obama: No you can’t!
Speakers at the event included MK Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) and Esther Pollard, the wife of convicted spy Jonathan Pollard. All brought a similar message – that the American government does not have the right to dictate where Jews may or may not live within the Land of Israel.
“Mr. Obama, we started demonstrating 16 years ago,” said Rabbi Shalom Gold, the founder of Kehillat Zichron Ya’acov in Jerusalem’s Har Nof neighborhood, alluding to the early days of the Oslo Accords. “You were in your ’30s and you probably didn’t know the first thing about Eretz Yisrael… but we’re part of God’s divine plan, we’re here and we’re staying here!”
“Be a friend of Israel, but even if you won’t be, we have the greatest ally in the world,” he said, pointing to the heavens.
Esther Pollard followed, telling the crowd that her message to the US president was that “your problem isn’t with Prime Minister Netanyahu, nor is it with the People of Israel. Your problem, Mr. President, is with the almighty God of Israel!”
The protest continued for more than two hours, as the demonstrators ebbed and flowed and consular staff across the street came out to watch the goings-on.
The protest was only a part of a wider campaign launched by activists on Wednesday, in which they will try to counter the American stance by portraying Obama as an anti-Semite whose policies would harm the Jewish state.
Over the coming days, activists plan to hang posters throughout the country of Obama wearing a keffiyeh, flanked by the words, “Anti-Semite,” and “Jew-hater,” written in red in both English and Hebrew. Another poster published by the campaign shows Obama shaking hands with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad against a background of a mushroom cloud from a nuclear explosion.
The Jewish National Front, which is backing the protests, said in a statement: “We decided to launch a campaign against the president of the United States and to say that Barack Hussein Obama is bad for the Jews.”
“From the moment that he entered the White House, we have been feeling anti-Semitism and hatred toward Israel,” the statement continued. “We have a number of plans, among which are demonstrations in the US and protests in front of the consulate and homes of the ambassadors.”
Later Wednesday evening, Peace Now issued a statement harshly criticizing the campaign, saying the anti-Obama posters and demonstrations would cause considerable damage to the friendship between the US and Israel.
“The radical Right is damaging our strategic alliance with the US, and is embarrassing Israel in front of the world,” the organization said. “[Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu] must renounce this campaign of the settlers at once, and act decisively against the hilltop youth and those who are breaking the law in the settlements.”

‘WE’RE OUT OF MONEY’
Sat May 23 2009 10:32:18 ET
“In a sobering holiday interview with C-SPAN, President Obama boldly told Americans: “We are out of money.”
C-SPAN host Steve Scully broke from a meek Washington press corps with probing questions for the new president.
SCULLY: You know the numbers, $1.7 trillion debt, a national deficit of $11 trillion. At what point do we run out of money?
OBAMA: Well, we are out of money now. We are operating in deep deficits, not caused by any decisions we’ve made on health care so far. This is a consequence of the crisis that we’ve seen and in fact our failure to make some good decisions on health care over the last several decades.
So we’ve got a short-term problem, which is we had to spend a lot of money to salvage our financial system, we had to deal with the auto companies, a huge recession which drains tax revenue at the same time it’s putting more pressure on governments to provide unemployment insurance or make sure that food stamps are available for people who have been laid off.
So we have a short-term problem and we also have a long-term problem. The short-term problem is dwarfed by the long-term problem. And the long-term problem is Medicaid and Medicare. If we don’t reduce long-term health care inflation substantially, we can’t get control of the deficit.
So, one option is just to do nothing. We say, well, it’s too expensive for us to make some short-term investments in health care. We can’t afford it. We’ve got this big deficit. Let’s just keep the health care system that we’ve got now.
Along that trajectory, we will see health care cost as an overall share of our federal spending grow and grow and grow and grow until essentially it consumes everything… “

Does anyone wonder why we are out of money???? Could it be the fact that the Obama administration spends and spends and spends some more? Now he is talking about putting taxes on Soda, candy and things we eat that are not good for us? What about his promise not to tax the middle class??? Shove that one out the window!
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/05/12/senators-consider-soda-tax-help-fund-health-care-overhaul/
Gee, every day I hear about some new plan Obama has and some new tax he wants. I keep envisioning myself living somewhere out in the wilds in a tent as our paycheck shrinks so we can all pay for Obama’s insane spending. He wants to tax: soda, chips, beer, smokes (again), electric, raise capitol gains tax, reinstate the death tax, raise pay role taxes, tax houses over a certain square footage, tax the amount to time you drive your car, tax, tax and tax some more:( Think we should just sign over our paychecks to him and let them have a ball? The average family would have to pay between $800.00 to $3,000.00 just on his cap and trade tax alone in just electric bills. These taxes have been being talked about on Fox News on a regular basis. As they are talking about these new tazes, I keep thinking “gee, what are the people going to have to live on?” The debt is too high for just the 5 percent of the richest people in the United States to carry so it will have to trickle down to us ( the hard working middle class) to pay, there is no other choice. = ( Get ready to watch the paychecks begin to shrink and shrink and shrink some more as Mr President continues on his merry spending spree.

Liar !!
Gingrich: Pelosi ‘Lied,’ ‘Despicable,’ ‘Dishonest,’ ‘Vicious,’ ‘Trivial’
“I think she has lied to the House, and I think that the House has an absolute obligation to open an inquiry, and I hope there will be a resolution to investigate her. And I think this is a big deal. I don’t think the Speaker of the House can lie to the country on national security matters,” Gingrich said.
He continued: “I think this is the most despicable, dishonest and vicious political effort I’ve seen in my lifetime.”
“She is a trivial politician, viciously using partisanship for the narrowist of purposes, and she dishonors the Congress by her behavior.”
“Speaker Pelosi’s the big loser, because she either comes across as incompetent, or dishonest. Those are the only two defenses,” Gingrich said. “The fact is she either didn’t do her job, or she did do her job and she’s now afraid to tell the truth.”
http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2009/05/gingrich-pelosi.html
Once again Pelosi gave still ANOTHER report of what she knew and when she knew it on water boarding. Now, she blames the CIA for not telling her the truth.
http://washingtontimes.com/news/2009/may/15/curl-speaker-misspeaks/
So, in the mean time while Nancy Pelosi is out there denying all of the things that she knew about, Obama is having a ball and raising taxes all over the place. Obama recently came out to say what?- OUR DEBT IS UNSTAINABLE!! And then he says there will be sky rocketing interest rates!!

A couple of days ago on FOX News a report came through that according to the White House Dictionary, any person who is pro- life is a terrorist, violent, racist and suspect.
http://video1.washingtontimes.com/video/lexicon.pdf
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2244774/posts?page=2
This got me to thinking; if Jesus were here would he be targeted by the Obama administration? Jesus believed in the sanctity of life and held each life as precious so under the Obama guidelines Jesus would be a racist, terrorist, holding extreme religious beliefs and suspect? Oh Please! This is totally insane! If Jesus were here in current times he could be arrested for his convictions. Thus in today’s world Jesus would be slapped away somewhere for trying to make people understand how precious life is and labeled violent?
What to hell is happening here in America? We are a Christian nation no matter what Obama says as most of America believes in God. When 9/11 happened our youth flocked to join the CIA, the FBI and the Military. Our young people have honor and pride in this country. Our young Americans take pride in their accomplishments and many of them hold their faith in God tightly within them. Now all of a sudden our military has been bashed as being a threat to the White House when they come home?
Every day when I turn on the news I wait to see what new mess the Obama administration is making today and I am never disappointed. He totally ignores the “National Day of Prayer”, apologizes for our nation all over the world, he bows before a Saudi king and shakes hands and is friendly with a terrorist such as Chavez? I listen to people compare him to Jesus and cringe. Obama is nothing like Jesus at all.
Jesus believed in peace, he believed in life and love. Jesus did not bow down before the enemy when he was wrongfully accused. He did not stand there making excuses for himself and honoring those who stood against him and his beliefs. Jesus fought for souls, fought for life, fought to teach love and kindness. Obama fights for himself, makes ten thousand excuses, back peddles and is a total abortionist who wants abortion on demand. To compare this man to Jesus is totally wrong as there is no comparison. Could you imagine Jesus ignoring a National Day of Prayer? Bowing down before Pilot? Endorsing abortion on demand? Lying? Apologizing for his people to other countries? Being arrogant and conceited? These things we could never see Jesus doing but it is very easy to see Obama doing them as he all ready has.
As a Christian, I resent what Obama is doing. I resent being told we are NOT a Christian nation. I resent being called a racist, violent, and having extreme religious views because I do not believe in abortion. I am NOT a socialist and never will be. I will NOT change my views on God or my country to fit his lower standards as I find them appalling. I will NOT bow down to Obama and will continue to say “Merry Christmas” instead of Happy Holidays. I will continue not to shop at any store who cannot say “Merry Christmas” back to me, I will continue to be against abortion, I will continue to fight for this country, its values and beliefs. I will not now, nor ever look at Obama as a Christ ‘like’ figure since this he certainly is not, far from it.
Ya, I am mad as hell. I am an American. I love this country and am anything but ashamed of it. I love the people of this great nation and am proud of the men and women who have fought in the wars to keep this nation safe. I am a Catholic, proud of this fact. I am proud of the fact I believe in God and I refuse to be made to feel like a second class citizen because of these values I hold dear to my heart. If I am called racist because of my faith and beliefs against abortion then as Jesus would say, AMEN,” which means “so be it.”

Obama’s leap to socialism
By Dick Morris
http://thehill.com/dick-morris/obamas-leap-to-socialism-2009-04-21.html
Posted: 04/21/09 05:21 PM [ET]
President Obama showed his hand this week when The New York Times wrote that he is considering converting the stock the government owns in our country’s banks from preferred stock, which it now holds, to common stock.
This seemingly insignificant change is momentous. It means that the federal government will control all of the major banks and financial institutions in the nation. It means socialism.
The Times dutifully dressed up the Obama plan as a way to avoid asking Congress for more money for failing banks. But the implications of the proposal are obvious to anyone who cares to look.
When the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) intervention was first outlined by the Bush administration, it did not call for any transfer of stock, of any sort, to the government. The Democrats demanded, as a price for their support, that the taxpayers “get something back” for the money they were lending to the banks. House Republicans, wise to what was going on, rejected the administration’s proposal and sought, instead, to provide insurance to banks, rather than outright cash. Their plan would, of course, not involve any transfer of stock. But Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) undercut his own party’s conservatives and went along with the Democratic plan, ensuring its passage.
But to avoid the issue of a potential for government control of the banks, everybody agreed that the stock the feds would take back in return for their money would be preferred stock, not common stock. “Preferred” means that these stockholders get the first crack at dividends, but only common stockholders can actually vote on company management or policy. Now, by changing this fundamental element of the TARP plan, Obama will give Washington a voting majority among the common stockholders of these banks and other financial institutions. The almost 500 companies receiving TARP money will be, in effect, run by Washington.
And whoever controls the banks controls the credit and, therefore, the economy. That’s called socialism.
Obama is dressing up the idea of the switch to common stock by noting that the conversion would provide the banks with capital they could use without a further taxpayer appropriation. While this is true, it flies in the face of the fact that an increasing number of big banks and brokerage houses are clamoring to give back the TARP money. Goldman-Sachs, for example, wants to buy back its freedom, as do many banks. Even AIG is selling off assets to dig its way out from under federal control. The reason, of course, is that company executives do not like the restrictions on executive pay and compensation that come with TARP money. It is for this reason that Chrysler Motors refused TARP funds.
With bank profits up and financial institutions trying to give back their money, there is no need for the conversion of the government stock from preferred to common — except to advance the political socialist agenda of this administration.
Meanwhile, to keep its leverage over the economy intact, the Obama administration is refusing to let banks and other companies give back the TARP money until they pass a financial “stress test.” Nominally, the government justifies this procedure by saying that it does not want companies to become fully private prematurely and then need more help later on. But don’t believe it. They want to keep the TARP money in the banks so they can have a reason and rationale to control them.
The Times story did not influence the dialogue of the day. People were much more concerned with the death of 21 horses at a polo match. Much as we will miss these noble animals, we will miss our economic freedom more.
Morris, a former adviser to Sen. Trent Lott (R-Miss.) and President Bill Clinton, is the author of Outrage. To get all of Dick Morris’s and Eileen McGann’s columns for free by e-mail or to order a signed copy of their best-selling book, Fleeced, go to dickmorris.com.
